Will you work with my current CPA or tax preparer?

Yes, we work with outside CPAs and tax preparers all the time. Many of our clients have long-standing relationships with their tax professional, and there’s no reason to change that if the relationship is working.

What we do is keep clean, accurate books throughout the year in QuickBooks Online. At year-end, we hand over everything your tax preparer needs. That means a reconciled balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and any supporting schedules they ask for. The accounts are closed, the numbers tie out, and your preparer isn’t left guessing or asking you to hunt down statements from eight months ago.

We handle the communication directly with your tax preparer when questions come up. If they need clarification on a transaction or want something categorized differently, we work that out with them so you’re not stuck playing middleman. The small business bookkeeping services we provide are built to be tax-ready, no matter who prepares the return.

The 1099s for your contractors get filed before the deadline, so your preparer has those ready. If you have payroll, the W-2s are issued and the quarterly filings are done. Your tax professional gets a clean package with no loose ends.

That said, a lot of clients who start with us for bookkeeping end up consolidating their tax work here too. Simona is a CPA and Enrolled Agent, so we can handle your personal tax return in-house along with tax planning throughout the year. Having bookkeeping and personal tax under one roof means nothing falls through the cracks between your books and your return. But if you’re happy with your current preparer, coordination works just as well.

If you’re not sure which approach makes sense, reach out for a consultation and we can figure out the best fit for your situation.

What do you handle when you run my payroll?

Full-service payroll means we calculate pay, withhold and deposit federal and state taxes, pay your employees, file the quarterly and annual returns, and produce W-2s at year end. You approve hours and we handle everything else.

I am being audited. Can you represent me?

Yes. An Enrolled Agent has federal authority to represent you before the IRS during an audit. Simona can communicate with the examiner, organize your records, and argue your position on your behalf.

I am a sole proprietor or single-member LLC. How does my business income get taxed?

Your business profit flows directly to your personal tax return on Schedule C. That profit gets hit with both regular income tax and 15.3 percent self-employment tax. There is no separate business return to file.

How do I keep cash flow healthy when I pay workers before clients pay me?

The timing gap in staffing and IT services means payroll goes out weekly while client payments come in 30 to 60 days later. Surviving this requires tight receivables tracking, a cash buffer covering four to six weeks of payroll, and often a line of credit or factoring relationship.

Can I deduct my home office as a consultant?

Yes, if the space is used regularly and exclusively for your business. You can choose the simplified method at $5 per square foot up to $1,500, or the actual expense method that deducts a share of your housing costs. Which one saves more depends on your rent, utilities, and office size.
