Do you file my business's tax return?

The answer depends on your business structure.

If you operate as a sole proprietor or a single-member LLC, your business income gets reported on Schedule C of your personal tax return. We prepare that return, Schedule C included, so in that sense we do handle your business taxes. Simona is a CPA and Enrolled Agent, so your return is prepared by someone with real tax credentials.

If your business is structured as an S-corp, partnership, or C-corp, those entities require their own separate tax returns. An S-corp files Form 1120-S. A partnership files Form 1065. A C-corp files Form 1120. We do not prepare those entity returns.

What we do for clients with those entities is keep your books tax-ready all year, run payroll, prepare your 1099s, and handle your personal return as the owner. We coordinate with whoever prepares the entity return so everything lines up cleanly.

For most clients this works smoothly. Our small business bookkeeping services produce clean books and reports for the entity-return preparer. They file the business return, and we file the owner’s personal return that includes the K-1 or other pass-through income. The preparer gets what they need without chasing you for information, and you don’t end up with two different people trying to reconcile the same numbers from scratch.

We also provide year-round tax planning to help you minimize what you owe before the return is ever filed. And if you get an IRS notice or need representation, Simona can handle that directly as an Enrolled Agent.

If you’re not sure what structure applies to you or want to talk through how this would work for your situation, reach out for a consultation.

How do I keep cash flow healthy when I pay workers before clients pay me?

The timing gap in staffing and IT services means payroll goes out weekly while client payments come in 30 to 60 days later. Surviving this requires tight receivables tracking, a cash buffer covering four to six weeks of payroll, and often a line of credit or factoring relationship.

What happens if I misclassify a worker in Massachusetts?

Massachusetts takes worker misclassification seriously. A misclassified worker can recover triple damages for lost wages and benefits, plus attorney fees. You also owe back payroll taxes, and the Attorney General can enforce this independently.
